Attorney Referral Fees
Fred Sisto is happy to pay attorney referral fees for criminal cases, consistent with the New Jersey Rules of Court. The paying of referral fees by an attorney that is not certified as a specialist in the relevant field by the New Jersey Supreme Court is unethical. It is also a crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:21-22.1. Even referrals made without payment subject the referring attorney to third-party malpractice claims, unless the attorney receiving the referral is certified as a specialist in the relevant field by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. See Tormo v. Yormark, 398 F.Supp. 1159 (D.N.J. 1975); R. 1:39-6.
